Apps Selection Process & Criteria - Brief Explanation
All applications, programs and services must meet certain guidelines to be included in our posts. Generally speaking, all applications should also benefit the core of our main focus as it relates to our PQI (Performance & Quality Improvement) Network mission. Applications need not to be more suited for business , personal, individual or group related as long as their is a connection to improving processes, tasks, and/or outcomes.
Rules & Guidelines
1- Must be FREE (by the title of the post this should be obvious but it amazes us owe many times you can search for FREE and receive results that provide FREE details, FREE trail period, etc). ALL apps must be FREE and must always offer a FREE version- not just a limited time for free use.
2- No TECH experience REQUIRED to utilize. We love open source but many times uses may need to have access to and know how to setup and maintain their own server to use appropriately. All apps must be usable "as is" and no need for additional hardware, software, etc.
3- Main access point is through an INTERNET Browser and not requiring any downloading of software. We are not discussing free software but free Internet Apps so all of the apps must be available simply by having access to the Internet. However, some apps may offer additional access (which may also be software to download) so that you can still use when not connected to the Internet.
4- Ideally- all apps should be accessible from ANY BROWSER, from ANY COMPUTER, utilizing ANY OPERATING SYSTEM. However, some browsers lag behind others (not just in speed) and cannot recognize all the available 'computer coding' which may prevent users from being able to use some of the apps unless they use certain browsers. Good thing about this is that ALL your Internet Browsers are FREE but we know that some people are still stuck on using only one browser (which is probably IE which is also typically the poorest performing browser also).
5- Ideally- all apps should be accessible from ANY COMPUTER, utilizing ANY OPERATING SYSTEM (OS) such as Windows, Mac, and Linux. However, some apps may require the use of certain OS for users to access or utilize when NOT utilizing an Internet connection.
